The programme
The Mini-MBA for Engineers is a training programme developed by Rutgers University, Unitelma Sapienza and IEEE to give engineers an introduction to the main fundamentals of business management.
Over 13 weeks, it offers an overview of the main disciplines traditionally included in MBA programmes, including accounting, business communication, business ethics, finance, managerial economics, management, entrepreneurship, marketing, operations and strategic management, through short introductory modules.
By the end, participants will be able to
- Understand how decisions are made in the organisation, with both technical and operational considerations
- Understand how functional groups work together to achieve shared goals
- Explain the ROI of engineering contributions to stakeholders in business terms that people without a technical background can follow
- Apply their new business skills to align their technical expertise more closely with the company's strategy
